Dieser Schritt war angesichts der Entwicklungen der letzten Wochen absolut nachvollziehbar: Apple würde sich viele Sympathien verspielen, die gewachsene Entwicklergemeinschaft auf Dauer auszugrenzen.
Abzuwarten bleibt, wie der Funktionsumfang des SDK aussehen wird — man kann sich im Moment nur schwer vorstellen, dass Apple keine Hürden zwischen iPhone und iPod touch legen wird – zu groß erscheint die Gefahr, der iPod touch würde zur Konkurrenz zum “Prestige-Objekt” iPhone.
